A poem about climate change and the seasons. This poem is written in a nostalgic voice that begs the question, why do humans keep damaging the planet with their actions?

“What Happened to the Seasons?”
By Kia West

There was snow when I was little
It fluttered to the ground
It was cold and it was magical
It didn’t make a sound

There were summers when I was little
That didn’t make things melt
They were warm and they were comfortable
It’s hard to remember how they felt

There was spring and there was autumn
Those times of in-between
The leaves would sprout or they would turn
But now they’re shorter than they’ve been

What happened to the seasons?
Why are they changing all their moods?
Tell me, what are all the reasons?
And when will the Earth renew?
